The 2021/22 StarTimes FUFA Big League kicked off on Friday afternoon with four fixtures.
Of the four fixtures, only MYDA and Kitara FC managed to win their respective games while the other two fixtures ended in goalless stalemates.
This is a wrap of the opening day FUFA Big League action.
Starting off in Kampala, Maroons FC drew goalless with Calvary FC at the Luzira Prisons Ground.
While in Mbarara, nothing could separate two playoff sides, Nyamityobora and Proline as they also played out to a goalless stalemate at the Kakyeka Stadium.
In Tororo, MYDA, who were relegated from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League last season netted in added time to secure a hard fought 3-2 victory over Ndejje University.
MYDA got two penalties and were all dispatched in by Experienced Geoffrey Sserunkuma while the other goal came from open play from Ivan Orono’s strike.
Jimmy Wasswa and Josephat Ayebare netted Ndejje’s goals.
In Masindi, Kitara FC came from two goals down to defeat Blacks Power 3-2 at the Masindi Stadium.
Richard Enjama, Edison Agondeze and Patrick Mugume netted the three important goals for Kitara after Joel Gerald had put Blacks Power twice ahead in the first 15 minutes.
Action will resume on Sunday as Kyetume FC opens their campaign with Luwero United at the Nakisunga Ssaza Stadium, Mukono.
