Uganda Premier League side Police FC clinched a Round of 32 Stanbic Uganda Cup spot after edging 5th division’s Karadali FC 1-0 at Orum Primary School playground in Otuke on Saturday evening.
The Kavumba side’s only goal came twenty minutes to Full time through a towering header by defender Daniel Jakony from Emmanuel Mugume’s well taken freekick.
Police who were eliminated by NEC FC in last season’s quarterfinals will hope to do better in this campaign.
Other games on the afternoon saw a Baker Buyala brace and Michael Abura’s single take Kampala Regional side CATDA past Mawokota with 3-0 scoreline.
Mbarara City also needed a penalty victory over regional side Junior Eagles winning 5-3 after normal time had ended goal-less in Soroti.
CATDA, Mbarara City and Police join Maroons, UPDF, Bushenyi Veterans, Blacks Power, Lugazi, Wakiso Giants, Vipers SC, NEC FC, Bright Stars, URA FC, Pakwach Young Stars and holders Kitara FC at the Uganda Cup Round of 32 stage.
