Paidha Black Angels and Iganga Young progressed to the Round of 32 of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.
This is after Paidha needed penalties to eliminate Kitara Regional League side Bujumbura United SC while Iganga Young held on to dump out FUFA Big league side Calvary FC.
Starting at the game at Kibanjwa Playground, the home side Bujumbura United netted at almost the death against Paidha Black Angels to force the game into Spotkicks.
Paidha went on to win 9-8 to advance to next round as
Pimundu Vincent, Aweko Victor, Oyirwoth Dickson, Oyirwoth Jonathan, Muber Jimmy, Oyirwoth Desmon, Ssonko Ronald, Cheka Sabiri and Bithum Francis all scored their spot kicks for Paidha Black Angels while Opakrwoth Benjamin and Bahati Jonathan missed.
In the other game of the day, Isma Tambula netted a brace to help Iganga Young dump Calvary FC out of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup after a 2-1 scoreline in Iganga.
Adriko Nazir Ongolo netted Calvary’s consolation of the game.
Action will continue on Wednesday with two fixtures. West Nile’s Tipsa FC will host Arua Hill at the Nyarilo Grounds while Five Stars FC will host Tooro United in Entebbe.
