Congolese forward Cesar Manzoki Lobi netted twice as Vipers advanced to the final of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.

In Robert Oliviera’s first competitive game as Vipers SC tactician, the Venoms dominated proceedings for most of the match to win 2-0.

Manzoki was the star man of the day as he netted the two goals for the Venoms.

His first came in the 20th minute after he forced Police FC defender Hassan Mahmoud into an error to finish off past Tom Ikara.

He would have doubled his side’s lead before the halftime break but Ikara made two brilliant saves to deny the Congolese striker.

Minutes into second half, Tony Mawejje nearly levelled matters for Police but he was denied by Fabien Mutombora.

Manzoki then got his second of the game with a lethal finish after nice interplay with Bobosi Byaruhanga and Yunus Sentamu.

Mawejje then came close again but this time, he was denied by the crossbar as his effort kissed on it to bounce back into play.

The Venoms could have had more but Karim Watambala and Daniel Sserukuma’s effort rattled onto the upright.

Vipers have now progressed to their fifth final of the competition and will play either BUL or Express on Sunday.

Their last appearance in the final ended in a 1-0 defeat to KCCA FC in 2018.
