The stage is set for the semifinals of the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup following the official draw conducted at Serena Hotel in Kampala on Monday. Four teams remain in contention for the prestigious domestic trophy, and the upcoming fixtures promise intense battles as each side eyes a place in the final.

KCCA FC, joint leaders in the ongoing league competition, will lock horns with Kataka FC in one of the semi-finals. KCCA earned their semi-final berth after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Kaaro Karungi in the quarterfinals. Their opponents, Kataka FC, made headlines by eliminating Police FC to book their spot among the last four.

The second semi-final features a mouth-watering clash between Vipers SC and the reigning champions, Kitara FC. Vipers showcased their pedigree by knocking out nine-time winners SC Villa in a statement win. Kitara, on the other hand, continued their title defense with a dramatic triumph over BUL FC at Butema Royal Park.

Both semifinals will be played over two legs. The first legs are scheduled for May 3rd and 4th, while the decisive return legs will take place on May 17th and 18th.

Kitara FC are aiming to defend their title after lifting the trophy last year with a narrow 1-0 win over NEC FC in the final at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku. With all four semifinalists bringing strong credentials and compelling narratives, this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup finale is shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet.
