Sunday served up high drama and raw passion as Ssingo County held off Bugerere, while Buweekula mounted a thrilling comeback to crush Kyaggwe’s hopes of a maiden final appearance. The second leg of the Masaza Cup semi-finals delivered a spectacle worthy of a grand finale.

At a charged Mityana Ssaza Grounds, Ssingo—defending a narrow 2-1 first-leg lead—locked horns with Bugerere in a tense tactical showdown. The battle grew so intense that both sides ended with 10 men after a red card apiece. Ssingo, fiercely protecting their turf, struck the crossbar late in the match and matched Bugerere’s aggression with determination. The goalless draw on the day was enough to seal a 2-1 aggregate win, placing Ssingo on the brink of a historic third title.

The electric atmosphere was elevated by the presence of dignitaries including Minister Judith Nabakooba, MP Hon. Francis Zaake, and Buganda’s Owek. Joseph Kawuuki.

Amid the celebration, Grace Navvubya, Pilsner King Distribution Representative for Mityana, expressed her pride:

Today, we saw the heart of a champion,” she said. “The resilience of Ssingo—playing with ten men and standing tall—is the true spirit of football. As Pilsner King, we’re proud to stand with the fans all the way to Nakivubo.”

Over in Mukono, the other semi-final was delayed by a heavy downpour—an omen for the storm that followed. Buweekula, trailing 1-0 from the first leg, found their saviour in Semanda Colline, who netted just a minute into the second half to level the tie. After a 1-0 full-time score forced a 2-2 aggregate, the clash went to penalties. There, two costly misses from Kyaggwe players saw Buweekula edge a 4-3 shootout victory, silencing the once-vibrant Kyaggwe faithful.

Now, the question looms:Will Ssingo remain a resilient fortress, or can Buweekula continue their storm-slaying charge to Masaza Cup glory?

The stage is set for a blockbuster final on November 1st at Nakivubo Stadium.
