The Sportrise Cup is back bigger and better!!!
The cup tournament which is mostly contested by elite clubs from Western Uganda is back with the second edition.
This was confirmed on Monday morning in a statement released by the founder and CEO Sportrise Douglas Smith where he also announced the cup dates.
“We are excited to announce that the 2nd edition of Sportrise cup will be happening between 28th December 2021 and 1st January 2022.” Douglas said before adding;;
“We expect the 2nd edition to be bigger and better, bringing together over 30 clubs from across East Africa.”
The Sportrise CEO also announced that more details about the cup tournament will be released in the next few days in a press conference.
The first edition, which consisted of over 18 clubs was held in February 2021 and Rushere FC, a 3rd division Ankole Region side won it after beating Ibanda Municipal Sports Club in the final.
Sportrise is Uganda’s first and only football manufacturing company and it’s located in Ibanda district.
