Following an action-packed month of 173 national-team matches, including 2026 World Cup qualifiers across five continents and a host of friendlies, the October 2025 FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking reveals notable shifts.

Spain remain at the summit, consolidating their lead with back-to-back wins after ending Argentina’s long-standing reign in the previous ranking.

World champions Argentina are close behind, rising to second place, while France drops to third following a costly 2-2 draw in Iceland.

Germany rejoin the top 10 at 10th, reclaiming a spot lost briefly, while Croatia slips to 11th after dropping points in a World Cup qualifier.

The Netherlands move up to sixth, overtaking Brazil, who stumbled in a friendly against Japan.

Further down the table, Hungary (37th), Scotland (38th), Nigeria (41st), and Romania (47th) have all climbed several places thanks to strong recent form.

The biggest leaps, however, come from Niger (108th), Lesotho (144th), and the Faroe Islands (127th), with the Faroes’ surprise win over Czechia highlighting their rise.

Kosovo reach a historic high at 84th, while Syria (86th) and Liberia (138th) also climb. At the opposite end, Greece (48th) and Sweden (40th) drop eight places after disappointing qualifying results.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking will be released on 21 November 2025.
