StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC have announced the departure of striker Shaban Muhammad after both parties agreeing to terminate the contract on mutual consent. The club has confirmed today, Saturday morning in a statement.
“Vipers Sports Club can confirm the departure of striker Muhammad Shaban who has left the club by mutual consent,” Vipers announced.
Shaban joined the Venoms in 2019 after he was released by Moroccan side Raja Casablanca, putting pen to paper on a three-year employment contract.
The former KCCA FC forward spent the entire first season with the club on the sidelines, nursing a knee injury after surgery.
In his second season, he featured in only eight games, scoring once (against Wakiso) and assisting another (against Busoga United in the 5-2 win at Njeru technical centre. He spent most of the time on suspension.
Following a series of discussions with the club, the Venoms have agreed to terminate his contract so he can move to another club right on time before the start of a new season.
It is reported that Shaban is most likely to rejoin Onduparaka FC, a side that gave him his Uganda Premier League debut.
He becomes the fourth official player to depart Vipers in this transfer window after former teammate at Onduparaka, Rashid Toha, Bashir Sekagya and Abraham Ndugwa.
The Venoms have only confirmed one signing this window and that’s goalkeeper Jack Komakech.
