Sandra Awori has officially parted ways with Kitara Football Club after three seasons, marking the end of another chapter in the club’s ongoing transition. In a heartfelt farewell message addressed to the team, Awori, now the club’s former media officer, announced her decision to step away in pursuit of new opportunities and challenges beyond the Hoima-based side club. She becomes the second notable figure to depart the club, following the departure of Deo Kasozi.
In her emotional letter titled “Farewell, and thank you for the memories!”, Awori expressed deep gratitude to the entire Kitara FC family, describing her tenure as truly memorable. She paid special tribute to outgoing club president Deo Kasozi Akiiki, whose leadership she credited for fostering a positive and inspiring environment at the club.
“Special thanks to Mr. Deo Kasozi Akiiki, your positive spirit and leadership have made a real difference. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you,” she wrote.
Reflecting on her journey, Awori recalled the triumphs, trophies, and moments of joy, as well as the disappointments and losses. Through it all, she highlighted the unity that kept the team together and made Kitara FC feel like family.
“I will cherish the memories that we have created together. I am leaving with a sense of pride and satisfaction, knowing that I have contributed to the success of this club,” she added.
Her departure closely follows that of President Kasozi, who recently stepped down after a transformative seven-year tenure that reshaped the club’s fortunes. Together, their exits signal the end of a defining era for Kitara FC.
As the club gears up for future campaigns, including its maiden continental appearance following the Uganda Cup victory, Awori’s contributions—like those of Kasozi—will be remembered as instrumental to Kitara’s rise in Ugandan football.
She concluded her message with warm wishes for the team’s continued success in the years ahead.
