Salim Jamal Muwonge: Sand Cranes head coach buoyant after tough BSAFCON draw

Sand Cranes head coach Salim Jamal Muwonge is confident his team can progress to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Beach Soccer African Cup of Nation.

Muwonge made the remarks after the draws conducted on Thursday evening at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt where Uganda was pitted in group A with hosts, Senegal , neighbours Tanzania and DR Congo.

“My players are ready for the tournament” Salim Jamal Muwonge said before adding;

” We have a tough draw but we know how we shall handle the matches”

” Senegal is very tough and playing at home, Tanzania are our neighbours and we have played them many times. Congo is new to us so we know little about them”

Uganda will be featuring at the continental showpiece for the first time in history and made it to Senegal after their opponents in the final qualification phase Ghana withdrew.

Group B comprises of the best ranked team on the continent Egypt, Morocco, Seychelles and Mozambique.

The Beach Soccer AFCON is slated for May 23rd to 30th, 2021 in Senegal.
