Defending champions Rwanda National Police Volleyball Club delivered a commanding performance, sweeping Uganda’s Nemo Stars 3-0 in their opening match on Day 1 of the CAVB Zone V Championship at Lugogo Indoor Sports Arena in Kampala.

Police Takes Early Control

Rwanda Police wasted no time asserting their dominance, capitalizing on Nemo Stars’ early struggles to keep the ball in play. A series of unforced errors handed Police an easy 3-0 lead before Nemo managed to respond.

With Police leading 9-4, Nemo Stars called a timeout in an attempt to regroup, but their reception issues persisted, making it difficult to build consistent attacks.

The defending champions remained in full control, closing out the first set 25-15 in dominant fashion.

Nemo Fights Back, But Police Remain Unstoppable

The second set saw a more competitive start, with Nemo Stars briefly taking the lead. The teams exchanged points in a tightly contested phase, leveling at 5-5, 6-6, and 7-7.

Despite Nemo’s improved efforts, Police quickly regained momentum, using their superior blocking and attacking efficiency to re-establish control. They wrapped up the set 25-20, edging closer to victory.

Police Seals Straight-Set Win

Nemo Stars opened the third set with the first point, but their momentum was short-lived. Rwanda Police maintained composure, capitalizing on Nemo’s weaknesses in reception and service.

Despite a late push from Nemo, Police secured the set 25-19, completing a straight-set victory (3-0) and making a strong statement in their title defense.
