Rwanda survived a spirited challenge from hosts Botswana Women to book their place in the finals with a hard-fought 35-run victory at BCA Oval 1.
In what turned out to be their tightest match of the tournament so far, Rwanda won the toss and elected to bat first, only to find themselves under pressure early on.
A disciplined bowling performance from Botswana saw the Rwandan side restricted to 99 for 9 in their 20 overs.

Rwanda’s captain Diane Bimenyimana while batting
Gisele Ishimwe top-scored with a patient 24 off 32 balls, while Henriette Ishimwe added 18 off 20 deliveries.
Botswana’s bowlers rose to the occasion, led by leg-spinner Goitseone Setshwane, who claimed 3 wickets for just 17 runs.
Captain Tuelo Shadrack and vice-captain Pako Mapotsane each chipped in with two wickets, applying consistent pressure throughout.
However, Rwanda’s strength has always been their disciplined bowling and athletic fielding, which once again came to the fore.
Botswana were kept in check from the outset, eventually crawling to just 64 for 9 from their full quota of overs.
Alice Ikuzwe led the Rwandan attack with figures of 3 for 16, while Henriette Ishimwe delivered a superb spell of 2 for 8, including 21 dot balls.
For her all-round heroics, Henriette was rightfully named Player of the Match.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone brushed aside Malawi Women with a commanding 6-wicket win to claim the second spot in the finals. Choosing to field first, Sierra Leone’s bowlers applied early pressure.
Malawi posted a modest 100 for 6, bolstered by a late flourish from Febbe Malefula, who hit an unbeaten 27 off 18 balls.
Skipper Aminata Kamara led the Sierra Leone bowling effort with 3 for 14.
Kamara then turned aggressor with the bat, opening the innings with a brisk 31 off 26 balls.
Marie Turay anchored the chase with a composed 32 off 36 deliveries as Sierra Leone comfortably reached the target in just 15.2 overs.
Kamara’s all-round brilliance earned her Player of the Match honours.
Elsewhere, Cameroon Women thrashed Eswatini by 140 runs, with captain Nseke Madaleine scoring 57 and Edwige Guehoada taking 4 for 1.
In a dramatic finish, Mozambique Women edged out Lesotho, recovering from a top-order collapse to win by 3 wickets and set up a 5th-place play-off against Cameroon.
