Rwakijuma United defends title as Kitunga League Season 4 reaches it’s climax

The Kitunga League Season Four climaxed on Sunday 13th March 2022 with nail-biting games.

At the closure of the day, Rwakijuma United defended their crown after having finished top of the 15-team log with 35 points in 14 games played across more than seven months.

Rwakijuma finished just two points above Elado FC who settled for the silver medals. Kisyanga took the bronze for finishing third of the log with 30 points accumulated in 14 games.

Having guided his side to the crown, Rwakijuma skipper Rashid Mbahabwe swooped the golden boot after finding the back of the net more times than anyone else. Rashid finished the league with 24 goals, six ahead of his nearest competition.

Jim Assimwe was voted the Kitunga League Most Valuable Player ( MVP) of season four after helping Enzaza finish fourth on the log and providing most impact to the league.

Season five will commence later this year after the elections of the new organising committee.

About Kitunga League

The Kitunga League is a school league that brings together old students of Muntuyera High School, Ntungamo.

The league currently consists of 15 teams formed according to one’s year of senior one entry at the school.

The League was initiated in 2018 as one of the means to unite Alumni from the Ntungamo district based school.

Kimiranku FC won the first two seasons of the league while Rwakijuma took the third.
