Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) is thrilled to confirm the acquisition of highly-rated winger Rogers Mugisha, who has signed a three-year contract with the 13-time Uganda Premier League champions.
The former Uganda U17 and U20 international becomes the fifth major signing in the ongoing transfer window, joining a list that includes Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Herbert Achayi, Lazaro Muhindo, and Enock Walusimbi. Mugisha’s arrival is seen as a significant boost to the club’s attacking arsenal ahead of the upcoming season.
Mugisha has steadily risen through the ranks of Ugandan football, earning a reputation for his blistering pace, technical ability, and knack for beating defenders. His standout performances for the Uganda Hippos at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named in the Team of the Tournament, marked him as one of the most promising young players in the region.
Speaking on his move to the Lugogo based side, Mugisha could not hide his excitement:
Signing for KCCA FC is a dream come true. This is one of the biggest clubs in the country. I am ready to give my all for the badge. I know the expectations are high, but I am confident in my abilities and look forward to contributing to the team’s success.”
KCCA FC’s co-Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo welcomed the new addition with optimism and belief in Mugisha’s potential:
We are happy to have Rogers on board. He is a player we have been monitoring for a while. His speed and directness on the wing will add a new dimension to our attack. He fits perfectly with our philosophy of playing an exciting, attacking brand of football. We believe he has the potential to become a key player for us.”
As KCCA FC looks to reclaim its dominance in Ugandan football, the signing of Rogers Mugisha reflects the club’s intent to blend youthful talent with experience. His presence is expected to elevate the team’s offensive play and provide fans with electrifying moments throughout the season.
With preseason preparations in full swing, all eyes will be on Mugisha as he dons the famous yellow jersey, ready to make his mark at one of Uganda’s most prestigious football institutions.
