Uganda Cranes kicked off their training ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) at Luzira Prison Grounds on Friday.
With a 36-man provisional squad that was named by Cranes Head Coach Paul Put on Wednesday morning, Five were already out due to different reasons by Friday.
The Five include Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka who were announced as Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR FC) players. Other players were Shafik Nana Kwikiriza, Milton Karisa and Sadat Anaku who are out injured.
After team’s training, Put raised concerns about a goalscoring dilema the team are likely to face at the tournament due to injuries and transfers affecting his plans
“We heard news that Omedi and Hakim left Karisa, Shafik and Sadat all out so we have five strikers injured” he said
Adding and concluding that ; “Therefore we have to put brains together and see what we can do and also find the return dates for certain players”
On Friday evening, the provisional squad was boasted by the addition of URA FC striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe and KCCA’s Usama Arafat.
