Ugandan duo of Halimah Nakaayi and Winnie Nanyondo have failed to progress to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics women’s 800m final.
This is after Nakaayi came last in her heat with 2:04:44. The heat was won by Jamaican Natoya Goule (1:59:57).
While in heat 3 won by Team GB’s Kelly Hongkinson, Nanyondo finished 5th posting 1:59:84 and failed to progress to the finals.
The final of the 800m women race will take place on Tuesday 3rd August 2021.
Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo won Uganda’s first medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics yesterday when they finished second and third respectively in the 10,000m race.
