Match-day four of the Girls Schools Cricket Week in Gulu saw Olila High School cement their dominance with a commanding 9-wicket win over Mt. St. Henry’s High School at Layibi College Ground 2.

The victory keeps Olila unbeaten and firmly on top of Group B.

After winning the toss, Mt. St. Henry’s chose to bat but faltered under relentless pressure from Olila’s bowling attack, collapsing for just 39 runs in 19.5 overs.

Evelyn Atuhaire (10) was the only batter to reach double figures.

Immaculate Nandera starred with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 4 runs, while Martha Amayo, Lorna Anyait, and Devine Gabriella Nyamer each chipped in with two wickets.

Olila chased the target briskly, reaching 41 in just 4 overs.

Joan Ilora top-scored with a quickfire 26.

Olila need only to defeat Sacred Heart SS in their next match to guarantee top spot in Group B, regardless of other results.

Group A remains competitive, with Masaka SS leading on 18 points despite their match against Light SS being washed out today.

Oher teams in group B like Jinja SS and Light SS are still in contention for a semifinal spot depending on upcoming results.

Olila’s tournament campaign has been marked by dominance: victories over Masindi SS (by 90 runs), Goodheart SS (169 runs), Gayaza High (8 wickets), St. John’s Mukono (110 runs), Gulu High (9 wickets), and now Mt. St. Henry’s.

Elsewhere, weather disruptions created unpredictable outcomes.

Masaka SS displayed grit, defending just 59 runs to beat Mt. Rwenzori SS by 23 runs, thanks to Penina Natabo and Florence Kaijuka.

Ndejje SS finally got on the board with a comfortable win over Nyakasura School, led by Alexander Nassuna’s 3/6.

Masindi SS edged Gayaza by 4 runs in a 5-over thriller, but Gayaza responded strongly in the afternoon, crushing Goodheart SS with Agartha Akankunda leading a sharp bowling performance.

Gulu High defended 99 to edge Goodheart by 10 runs, powered by Lucky Ayoo’s 16.

Jinja SS thrashed St. James in the Nile derby via a 91-run DLS win, bolstered by Mary Namiiro’s 41.

Rain-affected fixtures have added drama, but the tournament continues to highlight resilience and emerging talent across the board.
