She Cranes player Faridah Kadondi has joined the ranks of elite Ugandan netballers representing Gilbert Netball, the world’s leading netball equipment and apparel manufacturer.
The 26 year old announced this via her X platform, writing: “Delighted to join the @GilbertNetball team. Can’t wait to serve with passion.”
Kadondi, who now plays for Nottingham Forest Netball Club in the English top tier, back home she featured for Weyonje Netball Club in Makindye, Kampala. She is also played basketball for KCCA Leopards in the National Basketball League.
Her moment came during the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa, where she was part of the She Cranes squad that finished fifth globally and emerged as Africa’s best performing team. The team’s success led to increased international attention, with several players attracting interest from professional outfits.
Kadondi becomes the latest Ugandan to join Gilbert Netball’s ambassador family, following in the footsteps of towering shooter Mary Cholhok Nuba and former national team captain Peace Proscovia.
