Nile Cricket Club secured a commanding 54-run victory over Kutchi Tigers B in their first-ever encounter, held at the Entebbe Cricket Oval.
After winning the toss, Nile CC elected to bat first in a match reduced to 35 overs per side due to a heavy morning downpour.
In this Division Two, Group A clash, Nile posted a modest total of 143 all out in 31.4 overs.
Debutant Ronald Lutaaya led the scoring with a promising 29 runs, supported by Robert Ajuna (26), Robinson Turinawe (21), and an unbeaten 17 from Jeff Mwesigwa Kasozi.
Kutchi Tigers B’s standout bowler, Chintan Kerai, wreaked havoc with the ball, picking up 4 wickets for just 25 runs.
His sharp spin and disciplined line and length dismantled Nile’s top and middle order, threatening to restrict them to a lower total.
In response, Kutchi Tigers B faltered early and never recovered.
Nile’s disciplined bowling attack and tight fielding applied consistent pressure throughout the innings.
Robinson Turinawe shone with the ball, claiming 3 wickets, while Sulaiman Mwebaze and Samuel Agum chipped in with two wickets apiece.
None of the Tigers’ batsmen managed to score more than 15 runs, and despite batting for the full 35 overs, they were restricted to just 89 for 9.

The 54-run win now places them second in Group B with 7 points—just behind table-toppers Soroti City, who lead with 8 points.
Elsewhere in Division Two: The match between SKLPS and St. John’s was abandoned due to rain.
In Division One: The fixture between Ceylon Lions and Tornado Bees at Kamengo was also called off due to weather.
However, Kutchi Tigers kept their momentum going with a 30-run (DLS) victory over JACC at their home ground, maintaining their top position in Division One with 18 points from 11 games.
