The 2025/26 Futsal Super League marks more than just the start of a new season — it signals the beginning of a new era for Ugandan futsal, one defined by growth, inclusivity, and innovation.

When the league officially kicks off on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Old Kampala Sports Arena, fans will not only witness the return of high-intensity competition but also the tangible results of the Futsal Association Uganda (FAU)’s deliberate efforts to expand the sport’s reach and impact.

This season introduces new teams, rebranded clubs, and an expanded national calendar, reflecting FAU’s ambition to make futsal one of the most competitive and inclusive sports in the country.

Among the debutants are UG Kop FC, Lubiri Falcons, Lamansia FC, and Entebbe Cheetahs, all eager to make their mark on Uganda’s futsal landscape.
Rebranded Old Kampala FC has also attracted attention with major signings, including last season’s Futsal Super League top scorer and FUFA Futsal Player of the Year, Ilyas Omran, alongside Abasi Muluya and Micheal Abura from Park FC.

As reigning champions Mengo City prepare to begin their title defense against Entebbe Cheetahs, excitement is already building for a season that promises fresh rivalries, emerging stars, and electric matchdays every Friday night.

But the transformation goes beyond the men’s league.
For the first time, the FAU calendar includes three women’s competitions — the Futsal Women Super League, Futsal Frenzy Women Championship, and Girls Uganda Cup — emphasizing FAU’s growing commitment to gender inclusivity and grassroots development.

According to competitions calendar released by FAU, the 2025/26 season will feature seven major competitions, combining over 330 games of futsal action between October and June.

“This season represents more than competition — it’s about giving new opportunities to players, coaches, and communities. We’re shaping a sustainable future for futsal in Uganda,”
a FAU Competitions Director Abubaker Kalule noted on FUFA TV

With Old Kampala Sports Arena once again set to host Uganda’s futsal elite, the 2025/26 campaign is shaping up to be the most diverse, competitive, and entertaining in the league’s history.
