Nerrick ‘Bulabe’ Tumusiime crowned the site boxer for the month of October in a colourful event held at the headquarters of sponsors Wide Travel Deals International Ltd on Buganda Road.

The colourful event celebrated the top performers of October, with Tumusiime Nerrick, popularly known as Nerrick Bulabe, emerging as the Boxer of the Month. After enduring a challenging start in the Uganda Boxing Champions League, Nerrick fought his way back with a 5-0 victory over Kasasa in the Light-Middleweight.

The Senior Five Arts student from Kololo High School and member of the Kololo High Boxing Club earned the accolade after a remarkable turnaround in Season Four of the Uganda Boxing Champions League.

That impressive performance caught the attention of fans nationwide, who rewarded his grit and skill with 2,980 votes representing 49.31 percent of the total cast in an online poll organized by The Site in partnership with Wide Travel Deals International Ltd.

During the ceremony, held at the sponsor’s headquarters next to Buganda Road Primary School, Bulabe was presented with a trophy and a cash prize in recognition of his outstanding display.

Speaking at the event, Edwin Atukwase of Wide Travel Deals International reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the growth of Ugandan boxing.

“The main aim of this award is to motivate the boxers, and we shall continue funding this award,” he said.

Bulabe now joins an elite group of champions who have previously been honoured by The Site since the launch of the awards in May 2025. Past winners include Reagan Magumba, Isaac Kasasa, Mulungi Kasim, Alex Kanabi, and Patrick Ambayo, making Bulabe the sixth recipient of the monthly accolade.

The evening not only celebrated Bulabe’s individual brilliance but also highlighted the growing energy and promise within Uganda’s boxing fraternity. As young talents like Nerrick Bulabe continue to rise, the sport’s future looks brighter than ever.
