FUFA Women Super League champions, Kampala Queens FC, have officially appointed Shakirah Nankwanga as their new club captain ahead of the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers.

The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon through the club’s official social media platforms, marking a new leadership chapter for the “Queens of Soccer” as they gear up for continental competition.

Nankwanga takes over the armband from Shamirah Nalugya, who left the club at the end of the 2024/25 season to join FC Minsk in Belarus. Her leadership will now be complemented by Jamirah Nabulime, who has been named vice-captain.
