StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions Express FC have confirmed the departure of creative midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba.
The Red Eagles confirmed on Thursday evening that Mutyaba has left the club and joined Rwandan top flight side Kiyovu Sport Club on a two-year employment contract.
” Express FC would like to confirm that creative midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba has left the club” the club confirmed before adding
“Mutyaba joins Rwandan top flight side Kiyovu Sports Club on a two-year deal after both clubs (Express and Kiyovu SC ) reached an agreement for the player’s transfer.”
Mutyaba joined the Red Eagles in January 2021, putting pen to paper on a one-year employment contract. He went ahead to guide the club to their first league title in close to 10 years and was one of the team’s starmen as they lifted their first CECAFA Kagame Cup where he netted three times.
At Kiyovu, He joins Uganda Cranes captain Emmanuel Arnold Okwi who joined the club as a free agent at the start of this month.
Kiyovu are the six-time winners of the Rwandan League and will be coached by Harringingo Francis this season.
He becomes the fourth Ugandan to move to the Rwandese Premier League this off-season following into the footsteps of forward Been Ocen and goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato
