Uganda Squash National Ladies team secured the 2024 All Africa Open Squash Championship bronze that was played at the Wanderers Squash courts, Windhoek, Namibia.
The Championship which shuttled off on 18th and climaxed on 24th November saw the Ladies team had only two players Elizabeth Musiimenta and Safinah Mugide shine.
With representatives from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa and hosts Namibia.
Uganda Ladies team clinched the third place finish after defeat by the hosts Namibia who took silver and Nigeria crowned champions of women’s category.

Right after their win, the Ladies who secured bronze for Uganda express their gratitude;
“I am humbled for this win, this is my first for the All Africa Squash Championship Open.” Elizabeth Musimenta started
“I salute my opponents and the rest of the players. Special thanks to the Uganda Squash Rackets Association and the main organizers” she concluded.
In the men’s Category where Team Uganda took took four players, they secured fifth place with gold going to Nigeria, Silver to Namibia and bronze to Zimbabwe .
