The tension in the Old Kampala Futsal Arena was palpable. Fans pressed against the barriers, voices rising in a chorus of cheers and chants, knowing that every game now had the weight of a final.

Park FC, the league leaders, faced an unexpected challenge as Edgar’s Youth Programme struck first. But this was a night destined for one man, Shafiq Mulangira.

It all started with a moment of silence broken only by the collective gasp of Park FC supporters. In the 15th minute, Edgar’s Youth Programme stunned the arena. Alfred Feni’s precise strike rippled the net, putting the underdogs in front. For a brief moment, it seemed like an upset could be on the cards.

But true champions respond, not panic. Park FC did not buckle. Instead, they found their rhythm, passing with precision, probing for an opening. It came in the form of Michael Abura, who coolly converted to level the game. The crowd erupted. The momentum had shifted.

Then came the captain. Mulangira, eyes burning with intent, danced through defenders, shifting the ball with the kind of finesse that left fans holding their breath.

Just before halftime, he found his moment, an inch of space, a split-second of hesitation from the defense, and he pounced. The ball curled past the keeper, kissing the net. 2-1. Park FC was in front, and Mulangira had ignited the fire.

When Park FC returned from the break, it was clear they had only one mission domination. And they wasted no time executing it.

What followed was six minutes of sheer attacking brilliance. Mulangira, unstoppable now, struck again. A crisp finish, a roar of celebration. Then another, his hat-trick complete, the game slipping from Edgar’s grasp.

Joshua Aziku joined the party with two more goals, each met with thunderous applause. In the blink of an eye, Park FC had turned a tight contest into a rout. By the time the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read 6-1. A statement victory with captain leading by example.

With this win, Park FC held firm at the top with 41 points but their fiercest rivals, Mengo City, refused to back down. On the same night, they fought their own battle, an electrifying 7-6 win over Kabuusu Clouds, with Samuel Omara delivering a hat-trick of his own.

With just six games left, the race for the championship is on a knife’s edge.

Other games on the evening saw Kisenyi FC who had walked off the court with nothing but frustration. Missed chances, defensive lapses, and the weight of a winless run hung over them like a storm cloud. But against Kisugu, the sun finally broke through.

Determined to turn their fortunes around, Kisenyi came out firing, playing with urgency and purpose. Their attacks were crisp, their passes sharp, and when the final whistle blew, they had secured a 3-1 victory. The weight was lifted, the winless streak shattered.

QC Mbarara on the other side had been stuck in one for six games. Confidence had taken a hit, but belief never wavered. Against Lubaga Grameen, they played as if their season depended on it.

The match was a goal fest, an end to end battle with defenses stretched to their limits. But QC Mbarara wanted it more. With relentless attacking play, they overwhelmed their opponents, securing a 7-4 win, their first in six games. The relief was evident, the celebration deserved.

Some victories are about more than just points, they’re about making a statement. Kabowa Dream Team did just that, and at the heart of it was Vincent Kazibwe, a man on a mission.

Facing Crown Lubiri, Kabowa needed something special and Kazibwe delivered. A stunning hat-trick from the star forward powered his team to a 4-2 victory, leapfrogging their opponents in the standings. It was a performance to remember, a night when Kazibwe’s name echoed through the arena.

While others fought through drama and tension, Nansana ASKA approached their match against Busunju Sparks with quiet efficiency. No frills, no last minute heroics, just a well executed plan.

They controlled possession, shut down Busunju’s attacks and clinically took their chances with 3-0 victory, another step forward in their campaign.
