Mbogo High defend their girls Uganda Badminton Schools League

Mbogo High School were crowned second edition champions in the Uganda Badminton Schools League girls category at Mbogo High School court on Sunday evening.

Having shuttled the Matchday two League action on Saturday, the games were played in a League format and the one who topped the League won the League.

The Mbogo side took home the girls trophy after completing a One hundred percent (100%) record winning all their five (5) games over its opponents.

Talking to an excited Nakiyemba Nazifah, one of the Mbogo high School players to up hail this week as one that has helped them gain confidence;

“We have emerged the overall best in the School games and looking forward to winning the EastAfrican games.” she said.

“This week has helped us to gain confidence as players and morale not to give up.”

“Our young players have been given some games to play and have gained abit of experience in this League which is very important.” She concluded

They over powered schools like Progressive Secondary School (7-0), Kinaawa High School- Mugongo, Gayaza High School, St Micheal International and Nawandala SS (7-0).

On the boy’s side, Kinaawa Schools- Kawempe  branch emerged as champions with the difference between them and Mbogo being minimal as their side collected a 100% record winning all their Four (4) games.

The Kawempe side beat up group mates; Progressive Secondary School, Kinaawa High School- Mugongo, St Micheal International and Nawandala SS.

For Ebenezer Primary School, they came out of the League as champions of the primary Category conquering St Catherine and Green Valley Primary Schools.

This was Mbogo high school’s second consecutive trophy in two editions .

For the boys, Kinaawa followed into the footsteps of Kibuli ss who won the boys’ category first edition.

We are yet to know the winners of Super league and Corporate side but Ndejje University and CFK corporate are the respective holders of the first edition.

Both Leagues are expected to resume on 3rd August 2024 and climax in November this year.
