Gabriel Eragu netted the only important goal to help Bulemeezi edged past Mawokota to finish third in the 2021 Masaza Cup tournament.

The opening half was tightly contested but it was Bulemeezi that had two good opportunities to break the deadlock but Akiram Muzanyi and Sulaimani Ssesazi missed the target from their efforts.

After the restart, Mawokota rattled the crossbar through Godfrey Ssekibengo’s effort that was later cleared away by Tonny Atugonza, the Bulemeezi goalkeeper.

Mawokota dominated proceeding for most of the second half but it was Bulemeezi who took the lead in the 78th minute across the round of play through Eragu.

Eragu rose highest to head in a brilliant John Ben Nakibinge’s cross to score the goal that proved the winner.

Mawokota thought they had equalised late on in the game, but Dan Kazibwe’s goal was ruled out for offside.

Bulemeezi, who finish third walk away with a cash prize of Shs.7m while Mawokota take Shs.5m.
