Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi will be the chief guest as Buddu battles Buwekula in the final of 2022 Airtel Masaza tournament on Saturday evening at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Buwekula and Buddu will be meeting for the second time in this year’s tourney, having played out to a 2-all stalemate in the group stages.
Isaac Musiima netted a brace for Buwekula while Bruno Bunyaga and Edward Namasa scored for Buddu.
Before the final match, there will be a losers’ match played between Bulemeezi and Mawokota.
The Masaza tournament which is a competition among the 18 Masaza (counties) of Buganda kingdom is among the most popular local football tournaments which has produced many national players over the years.

Buddu eliminated Bulemeezi on Penalties 3-1 at the Semifinals held at Njeru in December 2021.
Buddu, who lost last year’s final to Gomba will be playing in their fifth Masaza Cup final targeting to win their second title, having won their first in 2016.
For Buwekula, they beat three champions [2013, 2007, 2005] Mawokota 5-3 on penalties as well to reach this far after normal time ending 1-all.
They have never won this prestigious trophy and will be targeting their first championship in this competition.
