Buddu managed to overcome Buwekula to win the 2021 Airtel Masaza Cup title on Saturday evening at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Skipper Marvin Kavuma and Bruno Bunyanga managed to net in the second half to gift Buddu their Masaza Crown at the fully packed stadium.
Buwekula started off the game impressively but failed to utilize the chances they got on several occasions.
Ismail Tambula, Michael Abura and Isaac Musiima all failed to find the target when they were gotten through.
But Buddu utilized their first real chance at goal, captain Kavuma raising highest to head in a well delivered Gideon Odong freekick to give his side the lead at almost hour-mark.
In the 72nd minute, Odong was once again in the mix of thing as he fed Bunyaga to tap in and double Buddu’s advantage.
Bunyaga finished the tournament with six goals, level with topscorer Musiima( who had more assist and took the golden boot)
The deserved victory means Buddu has won their second title, having won their maiden in 2016 when they beat Gomba at Namboole.
Buwekula has once again failed to get their hands on the trophy, having also failed in 2012 against Bulemeezi.
Buddu’s goalkeeper Michael Lutaya was named the Most Valuable Player, having guided the Steven Bogele’s side to triumph.
