Suzan Adong’s try, converted by Grace Nabagala was the only consolation for the Lady Cranes during the lady Cranes’ 07:62 loss to South Africa in Antananarivo today that kicked off their 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup campaign.

Uganda clearly walked into this one as the underdogs, it was highest lowest ranking team at the four nation tournament and the results didn’t differ.

In their second game on Wednesday 11th June, the Lady Cranes will face hosts Madagascar who also lost 28:5 to Kenya in the other game today.

Their final game will be against neighbors Kenya on Saturday 15th, June. Uganda will need atleast one win to keep their position in Africa’s top tier.
