The Light Academy Alumni League continued on Sunday, 20th March with five fixtures at the Ammars Sports Arena in Bunga.
Legends, who came into the weekend as one of two unbeaten sides this season ( together with Bliss) suffered a shock as they lost Hornets 4-1.
Ali Johnson (2), Mugabi Samuel and Saul Sserunjogi were on target for the hornets while Ddungu James had Legends’ consolation.
The defeat means Legends drop down to fourth having garnered nine points in their opening four games.
For the Hornets, they rise to four points and now occupy seventh position on the log with five games played.
Chiklops, who came into the gameweek winless in their opening four games secured their first victory after humbling Machete by 5 goals to nil.
Swaib Yasir, Kiggundu Adnan and Jjunju Abuhair, Aided Yusuf and Otim Mark were on target to secure their side their first points this season.
With the victory, Chiklops move two places up on the ladder as they now occupy ninth position with only three points.
Machete are a place below Chiklops with the same points (3).
Amos Bwanika and Nasser Kagimu were on target for Galacticos as they claimed a 2-0 victory over Mad Tings.
The third game of match day five saw Les Royals whitewash Black Mambas 6-1.
Jerome Oketayot, Santos Ajugo, Omar Ahmed, Shad Rashid, Innocent Kamba and Reagan Kitimbo got Loyal’s goals, with Black Mamba’s consolation coming from Salim Ashraf.
Closing off the day was a cracker that saw Locusts rally from two goals down to outcast Revolutionaries 3-2.
Revolutionaries made a bright start to the game, Muhammad Marena capitalising on Locust’s poor defending to net his first of the game in the first five minutes.
Before the break, it was two for the Revolutionaries- Marena running onto a long ball to net his second and extend his side’s lead to two goals heading into the break.
Being two goal down at halftime, Locusts made a tactical change in bringing off their skipper Kamardin Shero (who had an awful opening half) for Egetu Maurice and suddenly they started playing better, creating chance after chance.
After several dangerous attempts on goal, Locust finally pulled a goal back through Bakomeza John Bosco who pounced in from close range.
Less than five minutes later, it was 2-all with John Dalton Masumba sending in a ferocious shot into the back of the net to tie the scoreline.
With the game heading into a stalemate, Okello Allan Peter provided some moment of magic, easily beating off his marker to find the back of the net from a tight angle and subsequently complete the locusts comeback victory.
With that vital victory, Locusts move level on points with Bliss, but sit second on the log due to the superior goal difference.
The League will resume on Sunday 3rd April with the Match day six fixtures.
