In the absence of Aziz Damani, the Kutchi Tigers have displayed dominance by winning the 50 Overs Division One League earlier this year.

They played 10 games, winning 8, losing 1, and tying 1, accumulating 17 points by the end of the second round.

Currently, they are chasing the UGT20 trophy to achieve a season double.

Group A action unfolded yesterday at Jinja SS Cricket Oval.

In the morning game, the Kutchi Tigers defeated Jinja SS Cricket Club by 81 runs.

Batting first, the Tigers posted 159/4 in 20 overs. Jinja SS, in response, managed only 78 all out in 15.4 overs, with Devendra Pindoria taking 4 wickets for Kutchi.

In the afternoon at the same venue, the Tigers batted first again and posted 180/9 in 20 overs, with a standout half-century from Anvish Vekariya (67 off 36).

Jinja SS showed a more solid batting display compared to the morning game, with notable contributions from Mulongo Paul (43 off 24) and another batsman (40 off 44), but ultimately fell short by 49 runs. This marked Jinja SS’s fourth consecutive loss, remaining winless in the tournament so far.

In other matches, Nyakasura Cricket Club beat Premier Cricket Club by one wicket and five wickets in the morning and afternoon games respectively in Group D action at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

In Group B at Serenity Oval, Patidar Cricket Club defeated SKLPS by three wickets in the morning and five wickets in the afternoon games.
