Kulume Phiona, captain of Olila Cricket Club, delivered a standout performance on matchday four of the UCA Women’s T20 league, earning two Player of the Match awards.

Kulume became the first player in the league to win back-to-back Player of the Match honors while leading her team as skipper.

In the first match against Wanderers Cricket Club at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Kulume played a crucial role.

Her half-century, scoring 54 off 40 balls from the number 5 position, helped Olila post a solid and defendable total of 99/4 in the 16-over game.

She received significant support from Ariokot Malisa, who scored 20 off 19 balls.

Senior one Olila High School student, Icumar Josephine, was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets for just 15 runs in her 4 overs.

Kulume’s bowling performance further cemented her Player of the Match title as she bowled 2 overs, conceded only one run, and picked up a wicket, leading Olila to a 63-run victory.

In the second game of the day, Kulume continued her impressive form, scoring 25 off 21 balls and taking a wicket in her 3 overs.

Her all-around performance helped Olila secure a 7-wicket victory in the afternoon game, earning her another Player of the Match award.

Meanwhile, Tornado Bees had a challenging day at Jinja SS Cricket Oval, losing both matches to the hosts Jinja SS.

The morning game ended with a 29-run defeat, followed by a 7-wicket loss in the evening game.

In Jinja SS’s victories, Nampiina Stephanie and Rita Musamali were the standout performers, earning Player of the Match awards for the morning and afternoon games, respectively.

Soroti City Cricket Club secured two walkover victories at Entebbe Cricket Oval as JACC failed to show up.

Olila Cricket Club remains the only unbeaten team in the Women’s T20 league, leading Group B, while their sister club, Soroti City Cricket Club, tops Group A.
