  • BUL FC 1-0 SC Villa – Njeru

In a crucial Uganda Premier League clash at Njeru Technical Centre, BUL FC secured a 1-0 victory over SC Villa thanks to a decisive first half strike from Jerome Kirya.

The match saw both sides create opportunities, with each team testing the goalkeeper early on. SC Villa, fresh from a morale-boosting win against table-leaders Vipers SC, started with some intent but it was BUL FC that made their chances count.

In the 21st minute, Jerome Kirya found the back of the net giving his side a 1-0 lead. This goal would prove to be the match-winner, as neither team was able to break the deadlock in the second half.

Kirya’s strike came at a crucial moment and helped set the tone for the match. His composed finish in the 21st minute was the culmination of a well-worked team move, showing the clinical edge that BUL FC had been missed against Mbarara City.

The victory marked a return to winning ways for BUL FC, who had been held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against Mbarara City in their previous fixture. That draw had seen a six-game winning streak come to an end but with this win, BUL FC are back on track. The three points earned moved them up to 39 points, placing them firmly in third place on the log.

This win also extended BUL FC’s impressive unbeaten run to 12 matches, a testament to their resilience and consistency throughout the season.

On the other hand, SC Villa who had enjoyed a four-match winning streak saw that run come to an end. Despite their recent success, which included an impressive win over Vipers SC.

The jogoos could not break down BUL FC’s defence as they lost leaving them on 30 points, maintaining their position in 8th place on the table. While their performance against the league leaders gave fans hope, this defeat was a reminder of the competitive nature of the Uganda Premier League.

As the league continues, BUL FC will be hoping to build on this win and maintain their strong position in the top half of the table. Their solid defensive display and the clinical finishing of Jerome Kirya offer a promising outlook for the team in the coming matches.

For SC Villa, it will be important to bounce back quickly as they look to stay in the race for a top-six finish. Despite the setback, the team’s recent form shows they have the potential to challenge the league’s top teams.

Victory ensured that BUL FC remained one of the toughest opponents in the League this season as they continue their unbeaten run, they will be looking to keep their momentum going in their next game as they visit KCCA FC while SC Villa will need to regroup and get back to winning ways as they host Mbale Heroes.
