Kikomeko censures BUL’s slim Stanbic Uganda Cup Victory over Garuga Stars on Pressure

BUL FC secured a slim 1-0 Victory over Garuga Stars in the Stanbic Uganda Cup at the Cherished Ground on Sunday evening.

Ibrahim Orit’s 72nd minute strike was the difference at Full time as the boys from Jinja advanced to the Round of 32.

However, BUL FC Head Coach Abbey Kikomeko acknowledged how hard the game despite laying a strategy;

“The game wasn’t easy, we came knowing they are a good team.” He started

“We didn’t know the pitch but we strategized very well to get early goals which didn’t happen so there after we knew anything could happen at any time.”

Kikomeko went on to hold the Pressure liable of the Goal delay;

“I would put the goal delay on pressure because we wanted early goals, boys got chances but failed to convert them but in the second half they came back settled and managed to get the goal.”

“In the next round, what ever team that comes our way be it a Regional League, Big League or Super League side we shall play it.” He concluded

The other Round of 64 fixtures played of Sunday saw defending Champions Kitara FC thrash Young Simba 4-0 at the Bombo Military Grounds.

Kitara’s goals were scored by Titus Ssematimba who came through with a brace with George Ssenkaaba and Living Kabon completing the score.

Ten time Champions Express just like BUL edged their tie against Red Devo 1-0 after Timothy Ssefuma’s first half strike.

Action will resume on Tuesday when joint ten time Uganda Cup Champions KCCA face 403 Brigade away at the St Daniel Camboni SS Ground.
