Kevin Dasylva who joined the Vipers on a three-year contract, has finally been unveiled at the Uganda Premier League champions side. The Kitende-based side, in a bid to continue dominating the competition, has bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of the Congolese defender ahead of the upcoming season.

Dasylva arrives from the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he most recently featured for top-flight side AS Simba Kamikaze in the 2024/25 campaign. Known for his physical presence, aggressive tackling, and ability to play both centrally and at full-back, he becomes the latest international reinforcement at Kitende.

Upon signing, he said:

I am excited to join this wonderful club and take on a new challenge. This is a huge step in my career. I am ambitious and focused on winning titles here. Vipers is the right place for me and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a really good feeling.”

Dasylva joins fellow new recruits Isa Mubiru and Joseph Marvin Youngman, adding depth to a defense that already includes stalwarts like Derrick Ndahiro, Paul Patrick Mbowa, Livingstone Mulondo, and Nicholas Wadada.

Under Fred Muhumuza and John “Ayala” Luyinda, the duo who succeeded Serbian Nikola Kavazović and steered the Kitende based side to a local double, the club is crafting a team capable of defending its 2024/25 domestic double (UPL title and Stanbic Uganda Cup) and making a mark on the continental stage.

Dasylva’s versatility offers tactical flexibility, whether anchoring the backline or supporting transitions from defence to attack. His arrival signals ambition to maintain competitive intensity across all fronts.

The new signing is expected to be part of the pre-season training squad as Vipers prepare for their CAF Champions League appearances. He’s likely to compete for regular minutes in central defence or left-back, complementing established starters and offering rotation options.

The addition of the Congolese defender is just another confirmation that Vipers attempts at smart recruitment and international exposure are central to its dominance in Ugandan football.
