Keith Dan Amani was the star of the day, delighting fans with a composed yet aggressive half-century that helped the Gladiators maintain their unbeaten record in the MAXX T20 Challenge Cup.

The morning had already offered excitement as the Warriors faced the Royals. Ronald Lutaaya anchored the Warriors’ innings with a steady 39, supported by late contributions from Abdul Basit Habib and Christopher Kidega, setting a competitive total of 130 for 5.

The Royals’ chase started shakily, losing four wickets for just 66 runs, but Cyrus Kakuru and Jonathan Nyiiro forged a crucial 51-run partnership that revived their hopes.

Kakuru’s explosive 38 off 25 balls and Nyiiro’s calm 14 steadied the innings, and Jonathan Ssebanja’s composed finish ultimately guided the Royals to a three-wicket victory.

On the losing side, Joseph Baguma’s brilliant five-wicket haul had kept the contest alive and showcased his bowling prowess.

In the afternoon, the Gladiators faced the Titans in a tense encounter.

Early breakthroughs from Enock Kasaija left the Gladiators reeling at 42 for 4 after the dismissals of Suleman Sharif, Brian Asaba, Gerald Olipa, and Ronald Omara.

It was Keith Dan who took charge, crafting a magnificent 59 off 47 balls with both elegance and aggression, clearly enjoying every stroke.

Partnering with Paul Mulongo, who contributed 44 off 36, Dan steadied the innings and guided the Gladiators to a competitive 144 for 5.

Chasing 145, the Titans faltered, losing wickets at regular intervals. Ismail Munir (38 off 32) and Geofrey Kakaire (20 off 16) staged a late fightback, but the Gladiators’ bowlers, led by Jonathan Kizza’s three for 17, struck at decisive moments, restricting the Titans to 125 for 7.

Keith Dan’s innings earned him the Player of the Match award and ensured the Gladiators remained the only unbeaten side in the tournament.
