Matchday 20 Fixture

  • UPDF Vs KCCA – 4PM

The kasasiro boys of KCCA FC will face UPDF FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier League match to be played at Bombo military playgrounds as they target maximum points on the road in their pursuit to revive a fading season.

The lugogo based side managed to return to winning ways as they thrashed Mbale Heroes 5-0 at home in their previous league encounter and this will be a huge boost as they face a stubborn side of UPDF FC.

Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru anticipates a tough tie away from home but he remains positive of collecting maximum points despite missing a couple of players who are out nursing injuries.

“We have prepared well against UPDF FC, which is one of the stubborn sides to KCCA FC. The boys have trained well all week; the mood in camp is high, and we hope to use our previous game as a momentum shift as we head into the final bend of the league.” Said Abdallah Mubiru the head coach.

KCCA FC will miss up to six players who are sidelined as they travel to Bombo to face the Army boys.

Steven Munguchi and Julius Poloto who have not seen a lot of playing time this season are out due to illness whereas Mustafa Mujuzi is nursing a muscle injury.

Etienne Katenga and Hassan Muhamud have returned to the pitch for light training but this tie comes early for the duo. Teenager Brian Jjara is with the Uganda U17 side in preparation for the AFCON U17 finals in Morocco.

KCCA FC carries a better head to head record against UPDF FC as they are unbeaten in the last 11 games in the league with the last both side faced ending in a goalless score.

A positive result of maximum points can help KCCA FC move to the 4th position on the log as they currently sit 6th with 28 points just two below 4th placed URA FC.

Other games on the day, will see new league entrants face each-other one again with bottom placed Mbale Heroes hosting Lugazi at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.

Under the Flood Lights in Nakivubo, Express will host Police.
