StarTimes Uganda Premier League second placed side, KCCA FC will be hoping to strengthen their stay in second position when they lock horns with relegation threatened Soltilo Bright Stars at the Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.
KCCA have amassed 50 points in 26 matches, fourteen behind of champions Vipers who take on the Caterpillars on the same day away at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium
The Lugogo outfit’s form has blown hot and cold this season most especially in the second round. This has seen them pick two victories, one loss and the rest being draws in their previous seven games.
In the pre match interview on the club’s website, KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso came out to emphasize that his team is progressing well;
The team is progressing well but we have a task to win against Bright Stars FC who have won their last two games at our ground.
On the other side, Soltilo Bright Stars are 10th with just thirty points in 26 matches played, they have only picked seven wins and nine stalemates with ten matches ending in defeats.
However, they look to have improved their performance and not left the results behind collecting maximum points in their last three games
The visitors have played the hosts KCCA FC twice this season, drawing one in the league and winning the other which led to the exit of the Kasasiro Boys in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Speaking to the club media, Bright Stars Head coach Paul Kiwanuka admitted that his side needs the points in this encounter more than his opponent;
After the win against Gaddafi, the boys have been training well and it means we shouldn’t relax at all, we had five final matches before Gaddafi, we now have four finals.
When asked about his side’s record of defeating KCCA FC, he added and said;
It means alot, I very well know how the games against KCCA are not easy and tomorrow ‘s game will not be any different from the past games so it won’t be easy but we are ready.
We know they have their motives, they know what they want but I think we need those points more than they do.
Last Result.
KCCA FC won their last game 2-0 against Tooro United FC away from home at Buhinga Stadium just like Bright Stars who also won their last game 1-0 against the Soilder boys, Gaddafi FC.
The first leg ended in stalemate at Kavumba recreation grounds after Ashiraf Mugume canceled out a Nelson Ssenkatuka goal that came early in the second half..
What would a win mean?
A win for KCCA FC would take them to 53 points, four above BUL FC in third with three games to end the season while a win for Soltilo Bright Stars would push them further, away from the red zone, climbing up the Log to 9th, level on points with UPDF but with better goal difference.
