Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) has officially announced Jackson “Nelly” Magera Kaddu and Brian Ssenyondo as co-coaches for the senior men’s team, effective immediately.

In a statement from the club, the move to appoint a dual-coaching structure was described as a strategic effort to “build a strong technical bench” combining tactical insight and a deep understanding of the club’s philosophy.

Jackson Magera, a familiar figure at KCCA, has held multiple roles within the organization—ranging from head coach at the U15 and U17 national teams to interim head coach at the senior level. His deep-rooted history with the club’s academy and squad strengthens his credibility and continuity within the setup.

Brian Ssenyondo boasts a successful track record with clubs like Kitara (winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup) and the Uganda U17 national team, which he led to FIFA U-17 World Cup qualification and a CECAFA title.

We believe that Magera’s institutional knowledge combined with Ssenyondo’s fresh, performance-driven perspective will offer the right blend to guide the team forward,” the club added.

Founded in 1963, KCCA FC is one of Uganda’s most successful clubs. Their silverware cabinet includes 13 Uganda Premier League titles, 10 Uganda Cup trophies, six FUFA Super Cups, and two CECAFA Club Championships.

Recently, the club ended a six-year wait for a title and finished fifth in the 2024 season, sparking a leadership rethink at the technical level.

We now await to keenly observe how the Magera-Ssenyondo duo performs to reshape the club’s strategic direction. With pre-season preparations underway, key challenges includes blending Magera’s institutional continuity with Ssenyondo’s high-performance mindset.

Introducing new faces while reinforcing the club’s identity and regaining dominance in domestic league and cup competitions.

The appointment of Jackson Magera and Brian Ssenyondo as co-coaches reflects KCCA FC’s ambition to combine long-standing club values with fresh competitive strategies. With the two coaches now in place, the Kasasiro Boys are aiming to redefine their surge for titles that have eluded them since the Mike Mutebi era.
