Vipers SC head coach Fred Kajoba said his team is focused to winning and challenging for this years’ title.
The venoms will aim extending their lead atop of the SUPL log to 5 points after their direct rivals KCCA lost 2-1 to URA FC on Friday and missed out on the chance of getting above the table leaders.
Vipers will host a troubled Onduparaka side on Sunday 2nd, February in the Startimes Uganda premier league match day 20 encounter at the St. Marys Stadium, Kitende.
Vipers have garnered 43 points in 19 games while Onduparaka FC sit 5th on the log having collected 30 points in 19 games played.
The Kitende side are on a 3 match winless run in all competitions having lost games against SC Villa and Kajjansi FC, and played out to a barren draw against Mbarara City FC in Bombo on Tuesday evening.
Fred Kajoba will hope to pick up his first maximum points at the club against Onduparaka infront of the home fans and relieve himself from title chance pressure.
Onduparaka meanwhile, won their last league game 2-1 against Busoga United FC in Arua and will hope to continue with that momentum and pick up their first away win over the venoms in their history.
Speaking before the encounter, Vipers tactician Fred Kajoba said his team’s focus is on challenging and winning this years’ championship
We have all our focus in one direction. It is all about the league. We have to challenge and win it.”
Kajoba Said
He said he was disappointed by the result in Bombo
Obviously the result in Bombo was not what we anticipated. It was quite disappointing but we are more positive going into the Onduparaka game.
