Double winners Mengo City have pulled off a major transfer coup by signing star alas Joshua Aziku from Park FC, who will not take part in the upcoming 2025/26 betPawa Futsal Super League.

Aziku was one of the standout performers of the 2024/25 season, scoring 14 goals to help Park FC finish second behind Mengo City. His performances earned him a place among the final three nominees for the FUFA Futsal Player of the Year award, which was eventually won by Kisenyi FC’s Ilyas Omran.

He also delivered one of the season’s most memorable performances, scoring twice as Park FC edged Mengo City 7-6 in a dramatic Futsal Super Cup final—denying the Stormers a historic treble.

With Park FC now out of the 2025/26 campaign, Aziku’s switch ensures he remains at the top level of Ugandan futsal. His arrival adds firepower to an already formidable Mengo City squad aiming to defend both the Futsal Super League and Futsal Uganda Cup titles.

Aziku becomes the club’s third major acquisition of the transfer window, following the signings of Mugenyi Swabur, formerly of Kabowa Dream Team, and experienced youngster Billy Nkata.

The 2025/26 season is set to kick off in September, and while Mengo City head in as strong favourites, they will be wary of rising contenders like Kisenyi FC, who continue to make moves in the transfer market.
