Joseph Ssemujju has added two more years, committing his future to URA FC with a new two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2027. The forward’s renewal comes as a major boost for the Tax Collectors as they prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.

Ssemujju, who joined URA in February 2023 from Tanzanian side Mbeya City, has become an integral part of the team’s frontline thanks to his explosive pace, work ethic, and ability to stretch defenses.

Since arriving at URA, Joseph Ssemujju has made his presence felt. His standout moment came in December 2023, when he scored a stunning hat trick in a 4–1 win over Arua Hill. He followed that up with another crucial goal in January 2025, netting the winner in a tight 1–0 victory over Police FC.

In the 2024/25 campaign, he made 26 league appearances, contributing 2 goals and logging over 1,400 minutes of play proof of his consistency and value to the squad.

Both URA FC and Ssemujju expressed satisfaction with the new deal. The 27-year-old winger is looking forward to helping the team improve on their recent performances and push for silverware.

“I’m happy to continue my journey here. URA is a great club with ambition, and I believe we can achieve big things together,” Ssemujju said after penning the extension.

Club management echoed that sentiment, highlighting his experience, speed, and leadership as essential ingredients for their plans going forward.

As one of the more experienced attackers, Ssemujju is expected to mentor younger players coming through the ranks and ensure familiarity and depth in URA’s attacking system.

With pre-season around the corner, URA is looking to assemble a squad capable of challenging for league and cup success.

Joseph Ssemujju’s contract extension is more than just a retention; a statement of intent. With his blend of speed, experience, and hunger, URA FC is well-positioned to make a stronger push in the 2025/26 season and beyond.
