In a remarkable show of support, Mr. Jim Perchard, owner of the Farmers Field in Jersey, generously donated a wide array of cricket equipment to Africa Cricket Club (ACC).
The donation included essential gear such as batting gloves, pads, wicket-keeping gear, thigh guards, helmets, shoes , bats, balls, kit bags, and much more.
The equipment was officially handed over to Mr. Kintu Simon, Chairman of the Mukono Cricket Community and Manager of ACC Women.
This collaboration between ACC and Mukono Cricket Community, which recently became a player feeder system for ACC, stands to benefit significantly from this donation, further strengthening grassroots cricket development in the region.
It’s noteworthy that this isn’t Mr. Perchard’s first act of generosity in Uganda; in 2022, he made a similar impactful donation to Soroti Cricket Academy.

His continued support highlights a commitment to nurturing cricket talent in Uganda, especially at a time when the high cost of equipment remains a barrier for many aspiring players.
Upon receiving the equipment, Mr. Kintu Simon expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Perchard, acknowledging the immense value this support brings to the community.
He emphasized that this contribution would not only provide much-needed resources but also inspire excitement and growth for cricket in Mukono and beyond.
“We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Perchard for his generosity,”
Mr. Kintu in a tweet said
“This donation will go a long way in promoting the game of cricket in Mukono and across Uganda.”

With this equipment, Mukono Cricket Community is better positioned to train and inspire the next generation of cricketers, and Mr. Kintu Simon is confident in leveraging this support to make a lasting impact on the youth in his community.
