Despite her individual brilliance, her team, the Elgon Gladiators, fell short in the finals, losing by 36 runs to the unbeaten Rwenzori Titans at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The tournament, held over two weekends, saw the top two teams from a single round-robin phase face off in an exciting final.

In response, the Gladiators fought hard, with Mbabazi scoring a half-century (51), but the team could only manage 109/7 in their 20 overs, falling short of the target.
Mbabazi’s efforts throughout the tournament were impressive.
She scored 189 runs in five innings, including two half-centuries, at an outstanding strike rate of 113, earning her the Best Batter award.
Additionally, her all-around performances earned her the MVP title with a total of 448 points.
Meanwhile, Lorna Anyait from the Gladiators was named Best Bowler, having claimed 8 wickets in five innings at a remarkable economy rate of 4.65.

The tournament featured four teams—Elgon Gladiators, Rwenzori Titans, Pearl Warriors, and Victoria Pearls players plus all other female players were distributed across these teams.
Tournament’s main goal was to provide the players with much-needed practice and game time after a long break since the UCA Women’s T20, offering a valuable opportunity for the country’s top female cricketers to showcase their talent and also try to catch eyes of the selectors
To wrap up the event, Michael Nuwagaba, Chairman of the Uganda Cricket Association, presented the winner’s trophy to the Rwenzori Titans and treated all the players to a celebratory gathering at Sideline Bar.

While the Elgon Gladiators fell short in the final, the tournament served as a crucial step forward for women’s cricket in Uganda, providing both exposure and development opportunities for the players.
