Match-day two of the UCA Men’s League saw some thrilling action despite rain washing out over four fixtures.

JACC clinched victory in the Jinja Derby, while new league entrants GM Sugar secured a memorable win in their debut match.

In Division One, JACC, playing in the division for the first time, defeated Rounders by 44 runs in a low-scoring thriller.

JACC’a Odoi Aloysius was named Player of the Match as he was pivotal in the win, contributing 9 runs and picking 3 wickets.

JACC didn’t win the toss and was sent in to bat first in a reduced 26-over match, posting a competitive 125/8.

Mulongo Paul top-scored with 34 runs, while Waiswa Kenneth (22) and Eddie Agaba (21) provided valuable support.

Rounders, despite strong bowling efforts from Tembo Zubair (2 wickets) and Daudi Mwesigwa (3 wickets), fell short in their chase.

They were bowled out for just 81 runs in 17.1 overs, with JACC’s Sadam Oyaga and Odoi Aloysius each claiming 3 wickets.

JACC’s victory lifted them to the top of the table early in the season.

In Division Two, GM Sugar, playing their first-ever match at home in Njeru, claimed a 74-run win over Premier Cricket Club.

GM Sugar batted first and posted a solid 173/9 in a 23-over match.

Bhavikkumar Kantilal Patel (42) and Bhaveshbai Khapabhai Patel (33) were the top scorers.

Premier’s chase was hampered by costly extras (44), and they managed only 99/8 in 23 overs, falling short by 74 runs.

Elsewhere, rain disrupted the schedule, St. John’s SS and Mukono Development’s match was abandoned, with both teams sharing the points.

Aboojo Cricket Club defeated Tornado Bees by 4 wickets, while KC Budo triumphed over Nile Cricket Club by 3 wickets.

On Sunday, three matches—SKLPS Vs Mukono Warriors, Kutch Tigers Vs Ceylon Lions, and Wanderers Vs Avengers—were abandoned due to rain.

Despite the disruptions, JACC and GM Sugar made strong statements early in the season.
