Express FC forward Eric Kenzo Kambale has been named among the 33 players that were summoned by the Interim Uganda Cranes head coach Abdallah Mubiru on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the International Friendly game with South Africa.
Kambale has received a maiden call after his impressive performance with the Red Eagles this season, netting 15 goals in the league and helped his side progress to the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league log.
Tamale Simon, Innocent Wafula, Ssemakula Kenneth, Hassan Mahmood, Enock Walusimbi, Ivan Sserubiri, Isma Mugulusi, Joseph Akwandwanaho, Richard Basagwa and Derrick Kakoza have all also received their maiden calls to the Uganda’s Seniors National team.
Goalkeeper Isma Watenga is back in the Cranes fold following his brilliant exploits at Chippa United in South Africa.
Uganda will play an international friendly match with South Africa on June 10th, 2021 at Orlando Stadium.
Emannuel Okwi has been named the new Uganda Cranes Captain after the retirement of Denis Onyango and Hassan Wasswa and will lead the Cranes against Bafana Bafana.
The team will enter camp on Sunday morning 30th May 2021 at 8am. They will camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi with training to start on Monday 31s May 2021 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
