Cricket Cranes were flying in their ICC CWC Challenge League B opener against Singapore at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe on Wednesday 6th November.

Uganda managed to win by 7 wickets in a game where Singapore won the toss and elected to bat.

The Asian side put on a score 46 before losing their first wicket at tricky time going on to lose the next 9 wickets with Dinesh Nakrani starring with (6)wickets.

Juma Miyagi (2), Henry Ssenyondo(1) and  Alpesh Ramjani (1) went on to pick the rest for only 39 runs ending the first innings 82 all out in 38.4 overs.

Coming into the second innings, Uganda needed just 83 in 50 overs with Raghav Dhawan and Shrideep Mangela making it easy for Kenneth Waiswa (26 ), Robinson Obuya (19) and later Captain Riazat Ali Shah (24) to see off the game inside 18 overs.

This result adds more confidence to the host nation Uganda and will act as a booster to their 2027 World Cup journey.

With a favourites tag line, Uganda will face Tanzania in their next game on Saturday 9th November 2024.
