Uganda Cricket Cranes have reclaimed top spot after beating Italy by seven wickets at the ongoing second round of the ICC Challenge League B tournament in Kampala.
The Cricket Cranes who came into this game second on the log chased down Italy’s 124 target in just 24.2 overs to secure their second victory of this round and go top of League B.
Brian Masaba lost loss so that meant Uganda were tasked to bowl First. Uganda bowlers Henry Ssenyondo (2-36), Dinesh Kumar ( 2-25) and Cosmas Kyewuta (2-31) did brilliant work as the Cricket Cranes restricted Italy to just 124 all out.
Uganda in response used 24.2 overs to make 121 runs and secure an easy victory.
Kenneth Waiswa was Uganda’s most outstanding player as he hit an unbeaten 35 to help the hosts cruise to victory with 154 balls to spare. Dinesh Nakrani and Ronak Patel also added 25 and 23 respectively.
Victory takes Uganda top of the log ahead of their final game against Kenya on Sunday. This is so after Jersey beat Hong Kong by 55 runs in the other game played on Friday.
